Just had a talk with my dad, and it's offical

We're buying our new computer once Intel's prices on CPU's drop after the 20th, two days before my birthday. So, finally, after over a year of waiting and dealing with this piece of sh.t computer than can't run any games above minimum settings... I'm getting a computer that will run most of them maxed.

Note: I don't need a harddrive because I already have 4 that are going in this computer. I will not be getting Vista and therefore will only be getting 2GB of RAM, because me and my dad decided that it's not necessary to spend $100 on it. I don't need thermal paste because I still have some left over from a friends old build. I will also be replacing this Q6600 that I'm buying with my friends chip, because that has a 1.25VID, which is a hell-of-a lot better than the chip's Intel's pumping out now.

I decided on the P182 because it's just f..king sexy. I want the P5Q because I need a board that will support PCI 2.0 and two video cards (second 4850 anyone?). The 4850 is just about perfect, and the same goes for the TRUE and Q6600.

One thing is that I'm unsure of what P45 ASUS P5Q board to get. Any recommendations would be nice, but it needs at least 2 PCI-E slots.

Antec P182
ASUS P5Q-E
HD 4850
750TX
Q6600
TRUE
RAM
DVD

Sure as hell beats the **** out of my sigrig.

Great looking build there. However might I suggest the new DFI DK P45 board instead of the ASUS?

Hah, that was quickly taken care of...

My only piece of advice is, that if you're going to wait for the intel price drops, maybe the 4870 with two GPUs on it would be a better choice. I don't remember its official name, or when it is coming out though.

4870x2. I won't be getting that because, 1) it's too much, and 2) I don't want to wait even longer. And I'll look into the DFI board.

One question... Will a P35 board run two 4850's in Crossfire well? They don't have PCI 2.0. I'm under the assumption that you want PCI 2.0 for crossfire for these cards.

You'll want the P45, it has more PCI-E lanes then the P35 which ran crippled crossfire.

P45 has 8x/8x crossfire @ PCI-E 2.0 (meaning LOTS of bandwidth)

I would steer clear of Asus at this time. I recently ran into an upgrade issue... I was going from 2 gigs to 4 gigs on the P5N32 SLI SE D board.. granted I was using 4x1gig moduals.. however when I ran 4 moduals on that board it would blue screen on startup.. Asus response.. that memory config is not supported..

I got an EVGA 680i and so far the board is perfect.

I'd grab some RAM with better timings myself. This set is 4-4-4-12 and only $33 after MIR. This set is $34 after MIR. Or you could be like everyone else and just settle for the G. Skill set you picked out. I prefer to be an individual.

Great choice on the case, BTW. I was between that and the Tempest for my rig. I decided I'd go with the cheaper option. I suggest ordering it from

and using Super Saver Shipping.
