HELP! Have Alienware case - No Key

Thread Starter
Hey everyone,

I just found this site and I sit here, a new member, asking for help. I just picked up a very nice, lightly used, Alienware full tower at a Goodwill (haha) for $25. I then realized that the side panel locks and I can't open it up because it did not come with the keys.

My question is do all Alienware Towers use the same master key or does each tower have its own key? I would prefer not to drill the lock out, but that is my only other option, unless some of you know some special way to open it up without the key.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing some of your responses.

I wouldn't recommend it due to the price but a locksmith could open and make a key

Do you have any idea how much that might cost? I thought about that too, but wouldn't want to spend a bunch of cash for it. I don't go to LAN parties so the lock doesn't matter too much to me. Are there any affects of drilling the lock out?

I think drilling it out is going to be what I do.

As for Alienware selling me a key, do you know where I could go to find that info? I called them today and the guy on the phone didn't know a darn thing!

I'd first try to find out if alienware can supply you a key and/or if a locksmith can make you one. You can also try places like ebay, xoxide, frozencpu, etc if you can get one there. Drilling it out would be my last resort.

Call back, escalate the call to tech support or whom ever is up the food chain and keep calling back until you get someone on the phone who knows.

Anyways the guy in this thread claims he got the info from calling Alienware, though the thread is over a year old.
