1-Anyone know if it will work with my Abit IP35 Pro mobo being that I am using the one x16 slot for GPU? It says the second x16 slot runs at x4

If this wont work any other suggestions for a card.On the low end SuperMicro MV8 8 port using PCI or Highpoint 2320?
Thanks
What kind of media server? Most have enough bandwidth for 99.999% of home networks without RAID.

x4 PCIe is still 1000MB/s of bandwidth which is plenty. PCI RAID cards are limited to the 133MB/s shared bus. The Highpoint 2320 is slower than this card.

Here are some ATTO results from my setup.

There are 4x OCZ Core II SSD in a Raid 0, 256k stripe, 128 sector aligned with diskpar, 4096 unit NTFS allocation size.

There are 4x 1T Spinpoint F1 in a Raid 5, 128k stripe, default NTFS allocation size.

Both of them are Write-Back, Cached IO, Adaptive Read-Ahead, Disk-Cache enabled. (there is a BBU, the bbu is on, but Write-through w/o a battery is off as well.)

I'd be interested to see if anyone thinks I can get a bit more out of these arrays, especially some faster writes.

If you go back a few pages in threads, Villianstone found from OCZ that the benchmarking tools don't work quite right with SSD RAID.

Yah, I saw those. (If you change ATTO's "total length" from 256MB to 256KB, the write speeds go up to ~500M...)

I got very similar results with 4 Patriot V2s on a PERC 5/i. The writes are over 100MB/s slower than the ARC-1220 but reads are over 100MB/s higher on the PERC 5/i. Very odd.

Get the one with 2 screw holes. Simply fill out the form and you'll get it in a week. Fits perfectly.

So I installed the MFT software from easyco on my machine. (they have a 30-day trial.)

for reference, here is the ATTO benchmark with NTFS, and 128 sector alignment:

Then I installed MFS, and used all of their defaults:

The numbers get quite a bit crazy, don't they? I think this is because the MFS software tries to assemble writes into bigger packages and the ATTO benchmark is confusing to it.

MFS comes with its own benchmark suite. Here's the result for the SSD:

Those numbers are a lot lower than what I would 'expect' to see, so I ran the test against my 4 x 1TB spinpoints in a raid 5:

I still don't know if I "believe" any of the SSD numbers yet. I need to figure out some "real world" benchmarks.
