do people with dell firmware experience the warm boot error as well? I see that problem only with lsi firmware. would like folks running dell firmware to respond.

The warm boot issues only happen on certain LSI firmware. Pretty sure Dell FW doesn't experience the issue. Even a couple of LSI ones (noted in the OP) don't experience it.

I eventually hit warm boot issues with all LSI firmwares (and yes, the ones mentioned on front page also) I tried.

Not so with Dell firmware so far. Keeping my fingers crossed! I have lost about 10% performance and the ability to do bigger than 128K stripes but I think its not worth the hassle of warm boot to use LSI firmware. Dell storage manager is local but its very similar for basic needs that I have. I mostly use CLI from Linux most of the time anyway.

There is (or was) a limit to the drive size you can use on the 5/i or 6/i? I never heard of large capacity physical drives being a problem. If there was then I figure we would have already heard complaints from people trying to run 1.5TB Seagates. Not sure about the 2TB WDs since those are still really new and expensive.

It would only make sense that they worked, but often card manufacturers don't say they are supported till they tested them. So people have been doing this?

Has anyone posted benches with 1.5's? I would love to see how they performed in a 3 x RAID-5 and know how full they were when testing. Best tests show performance at 10% increments of the drive's capacity being used.

hard to say... you really have to find the benchmarks. Both cards use the same Intel IOP.
Once again...

Has anyone been successful in getting the event monitor to send them email notifications? I can't get the test email to work, it's always coming back as failed. I even tried installing an smtp server on my machine to see if thatwould help but still no luck. I running Vista business as my OS.
