Did you actually get the PERC working on a P5K? I have a P5K vanilla and I've tried every BIOS setting I can, and the system won't post if I have the PERC plugged into the second x16 slot (the black one). I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't found anyone that is using the PERC with a P5K successfully, so if you got it working, I would love to know how.

I was able to get it to work on a Asus P5K Premium Wifi with just the tape mod plugged into the second X16 slot.

Ok so i just lost a hard drive on my 8x1TB setup. I dont have any spears on hand. Do i A go buy a about 5 drives to back this up or do i B just buy a 1tb and try to rebuild? Yes i know Raid 5 isnt a form of backup. nothing of value is on the Raid although i would be sad to lose it.
I currently have the machine powered down while i figure out my options.

Go buy 1TB and rebuild it. It will take some time, but there shouldn't be a problem. That's why RAID5 is made that way.

hi

do you know if I can connect ST973402SS to PERC 5/i ? I'm not sure if this drive have "standard" SATA/SAS connector or some special ? I've seen somewhere some strange photos - but now I'm not sure ...

Just a status update. After i made sure everything was snug and rebooted the drive came back online. I am currently running a consistency check on it. and will probably be looking for a backup solution for my raid 5 in the near future. I will probably also plan on buying a replace ment drive for a backup on hand in the next day or so.
Thx guys

I certainly do have mine going, but in the 1st PCI-Express slot, and I've a cheap graphics card in the 2nd slot.

Pin-mod done, and all drives plugged into the Perc.
