I just trashed the stock heatsink, and it was so long ago, I don't remember what I did with it.

Hi guys im new here but have been reading this thread loads!

your tips have been very usedful!

currently got the perc 5i running 3disk raid 5 with 500gbs and 5disk raid5 with 1.5tbs

having issues with heat though want to cool it down abit what chipsets have you tried to make it more cool?

also is there any amps that can monitor the temperature of it?

Yep, that's exactly what I have on mine. Got a SpotCool sitting in front of it. Stays cool as a cucumber.

I am doing some upgrading to my machine and I really think it's time to hook the perc5 properly with a pci bracket because I have it kind of loose the last 4 months.

I tried to find a compatible bracket from several old ethernet/gpu/random pci cards I had around but to my surprise none fit!

Trying to find one online, I only came along this :

But the price is insane, 26$ with shipping costs. I mean, it's not like it's a huge amount of money, but I refuse to pay this extorsionist price of 26$ for a 10gram piece of metal.

Could you give me any alternative? Maybe some kind of pci card that I can find easily and whose bracket fits?
