Here is link to info about correct memory type:

I have been running 7.0.1-0081 for a few days now, i haven't come across any problems. cold and warm reboots are fine.

Hi, I'm new to here. Can anyone confirm that Perc 5/i can support 8x2TB drive in RAID5? Thanks

I know it supports 2tb drives, I am using 3 of them. Shouldn't be any different with 8.

the performance levels you mention seem a bit slow, but i don't know what you should be expecting. typically, you take the performance numbers of a single drive, call it P, multiply that by N-1 drives, in your case (4-1) x P = 3 x P. That number is going to be a rough estimate of your expected performance level for RAID-5 with 3~8 drives. Beyond 8 drives, the performance characteristics start looking a bit logarithmic. This estimate is only meaningful for large sequential writes where the overhead factor is close to 1.

Well thanks for the reply, a few days later the perc finally reported the bbu has gone bad, looks like i need to get a replacement.
Next question is that, can i reset the 'drive predictive failure' warning? a bad cable causes the drive to drop out. Ive replaced the cable and the array have been rebuild. Now the warning still persist.

I saw Kermee's posts - but it's for Linux.

I just found version for Windows:
http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/internal_raid/megaraid_sas/value_line/megaraid_sas_9260-16i/index.html

You need to select "Support and Downloads" tab and scroll to the end.

Maybe the page doesn't look very trusthworthy wink.gif but list seems to be OK ...

2) LSI and IBM firmware 7.0.1-0075 - are EXACTLY the same !!!

So maybe there is a hope for 1GB cache wink.gif

Anybody have 1GB stick ? wink.gif

Anybody tried:

1) PERC 5/i together with PERC 5/i ?

2) PERC 5/i together with PERC 6/i ?

3) PERC 6/i together with PERC 6/i ?

Yep. Worked fine in an Intel S3000AH server board. BIOS on both cards was disabled though, as I booted from a different controller.

This worked fine in a Gigabyte P45 consumer motherboard. I did not boot from either of them though.
