I've bought cheap PERC 6/i so in few days I'll be able to install both cards and make some tests if they will work together ...

Can anybody make some suggestions what and how should I test ?
I have few of each: 36GB/8mb/15k/3.5", 72GB/16mb/15k/3.5" and 300GB/16mb/10k/2.5"

The PERCs only show HD temps for SAS drives. SAS drives use a diferent temperature reporting method than SATA drives.

It should work, but I have been hearing bad things about the H700/H800 controllers not being able to work with non-DELL certified drives. It seems that they simply block the use of non-DELL certified drives without any override options at the firmware level. I am not sure if there was any resolution to this, as the story broke about a year ago and I haven't heard anything about it ever since.
