PERC 5/i RAID Card: Tips and Benchmarks - Page 541

Does anyone here know how to check if the BBU is functional without actually putting it in a computer? I would REALLY appreciate any advice.

Also, if it is not functional, how could I go about acquiring one?

you could check it's voltage with a multimeter

you can get BBUs from ebay for pretty cheap. also, check google shopping. just find one for a decent price and make sure it works with your model of card.

I've tried doing that but I don't know which wires are the actual power wires. Would you happen to know where I could find a BBU pinout?
