I found very good source I bought two sealed boxes - with 30 drives each
I can sell ST9300605SS for 120GBP/piece or less - for large quantity
ST9900805SS - for 320GBP/piece - I had 10, but only 6 left.

I've checked s/n on Seagate web site - and all have 5years warranty - they are not OEM/rebranded so Seagate will replace them.

I think I can have any model you want - in good price - just send me request on priv

Hey there, im new to this forum and been reading this thread for quite some time now. (It's huuuge )

I'm about to setup a htpc/fileserver with 8x Samsung F4EG in a raid5 with perc 5i, still got a few questions ihope to get the answer to.

The MB im going to use is a Asus P8H67-I B3 miniITX (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...specifications)

That MB just got a 16x pcie slot, will that work even tough the perc 5i runs on 8x?

I've seen ppl using diffrent firmwares for the perc, and ppl having problem with some running that many disks? What firmware is recomended to run when i run that many discs? Abit confused

And third, about the cooling.. trying to find some nice guide since i havent moded anything before, but most pictures dosant work that i found way back in the thread. Anyone got any new ones?

Thanks!

If there is no catch - if this slot isn't only for graphics cards - 16x lanes aren't any problem at all

I am using the AZZA Solano case, has a 230MM fan on the side that blows directly over the card. I tried to mount a universal heatsink with fan but mine is the LSI model 8480e and the heatsink holes were too small. Haven't had a chance to find the right size screw yet.

I've screwed fan directly onto the heatsink - but you need to find correct screws - long and with right diameter and thread - unfortunately I can't take photos of mine right now
