just food for thought.

Are you talking about EXE file or WEB PAGE ? wink.gif
Because the problem was with browser and message - or fake message, image looking like message - not EXE application.

from what i understood from the video the guy was able to program the buttons of the popup to still execute code. He made the program when it launched act or appear like the default browser on the computer.

I'll see if i can find it.

It looks like there is SAS Exapnder and Mini-SAS connector.

And another variation - with SFF-8484:

I'm sorry, but you still don't get it - could please read "question" and my reply again - http://www.overclock.net/t/359025/perc-5-i-raid-card-tips-and-benchmarks/5770#post_16084195

He used google to find info about the difference between H/W and S/W RAID - and the link he clicked - was fake website with fake warning.

Having some issues with my PERC 6i card, hoping to get some help from here.

Been using a PERC 6i with 4x 37GB 10krpm SAS drives in a RAID 5 array for OS and 4x 2TB SATA drives in a RAID 6 array for data .

Has been working fine for a year or so. (Gigabyte MB, AMD Phenom II X4, 8gb ram etc)

But last night the system stopped booting.

After a few hours of troubleshooting, I found that if I leave the SAS and SATA drives connected, system won't boot (it gets to loading operating system and hangs).

If I remove the SATA drives and just leave the SAS drives connected then system boots fine. If I then later connect the SATA drives after system boots, using LSI's megaraid manager, it sees the volume as foreign and allows me to import it, then it works fine till next reboot.

Also when booting, when I press ctrl-R to try to get into the PERC's bios, it will hang.

I've tried re-seating all the cables, the card and everything else in the system.

Is my PERC 6i card going bad? Any idea how I can get it to get into bios again? or how to get it to boot with both sets of drives connected?

Thanks

to be honest with you, i mostly work with these RAID controllers in Dell servers, not in the unique setups that many people have here. But I've always been told NOT to mix SAS and SATA drives, that the setup won't work. Apparently, you've had that setup work for you for a while. So, I'm not surprised at what you're seeing right now, but I am surprised at how you were able to run SAS/SATA mixed for a year!
