Do any of you know of a north bridge heatsink that will clip in nicely? Or should I just glue a fan to the existing heatsink?

BTW I tried to search this thread for both cooler and heatsink, OCN search failed me :'(.

OCN search sucks.... it only allows 1 search per 10 seconds which makes it garbage for saving time, it seriously is better to just ask the damn question sometimes

This RAID card is sanwiched between two GPU's on my board so I have a fan resting on the GPUs blowing down over the RAID card.

You can probably get the enzotech HS that has the fan on it and modify the mount lever a tad, or just take your own slice of steel and thread it across the heatsink youself. I have considered just doing this since its getting quite hard to keep the fan positioned right with an SLI bridge blocking cables and causing my fan to be a super tight fit...

However IM too lazy to spend more on the HSF one and dont care to remove the RAID card again as it is rather difficult to get that lever back on due to the magnitude of torque for such a small piece

Okay cool I'll just have a fan blow down on it too then, seems easier lol.

for clarification, my motherboard is parallel to the floor, I forget that not everyone has this setup <_<

Click it and view the large pic (1MB) and you will see how the fan is... might be harder to do that on a vertical setup

I posted a couple days ago about the check box for write back in the management software always being checked. Which it is, but the option is actually off. However, after using it for a couple days now I have run into a problem.

I have all my pcs on the network setup so that any files they download go straight to the file server, the raid 5 array is a share and setup as a mapped drive on all my pcs. If I have adaptive read ahead set for the read policy all my downloads have a 50/50 chance of being corrupt. Just looking for suggestions on what could be the cause of this as I get a huge performance increase using adaptive read ahead (at least according to hdtach and hdtuner pro).

Here's my server setup:
vista business 64bit w/sp1, tcpip patched for 100 connections
celeron 1200 @ 3ghz
4gb ddr2 800
74gb adfd raptor as OS and pagefile
4x750gb samsung f1's as raid 5 array
perc 5i using LSI v61 firmware and latest drivers from LSI
megaraid storage manager is v2.35-0
I have a BBU, the MSM says it is in good shape and fully charged.

Thanks,
NeonFlak

Yeah I used to have my computer like that because it was the only way it would fit where I wanted it.. IMO it is a lot nicer like that as you don't even have to screw in your video cards.
