the wierd thing is im transfering from the one hard drive to the array but im only getting 16Mb/s
There's a bottleneck going on again... and your CPU usage is really high? Please provide the full system specs.

ive got 40% free mem
about 6% cpu useage
e8500 with 4gb or ram

read policy: adaptive read ahead
default write policy: write back
io policy: direct IO
acess policy: read write
disk cache policy: disabled
background initialization: disabled

i just thought it would go as fast as the single disk at 40MB per second or so but this is like a third of that

if i do small files it seems to go faster is it something windows is doing im trying to move about 700gb

What are the option for "disk cache policy"?

Are you using these settings?
read policy: adaptive read ahead (Read Ahead if there are two sequential reads.)
default write policy: write back (Will store data in cache before writing to disk)
io policy: direct IO (Read from disk and memory)
acess policy: read write (read and write to disk)
disk cache policy: enable (enable HD caching)

teaches me to screw with more than one option at one

well atleast i can get the OCE started tonight now
