I just finished making my own COD4 video. I made a thread of it, here is the link to the thread.
http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/36...rag-video.html
What I did in the video was I used the /record command in console. That will record a demo. The /stoprecord will stop the demo. Then the demo will be placed in the demos folder in C:\\Program Files\\Activision\\Call of Duty 4- Modern Warfare\\Main\\Demos (The demos get placed else where if you have vista and will be in a different folder if you are in a moded server that has a mod like PAM4). What I did was I binded the record feature to the "x" key and the stop record feature to the "v" key making it easy to start and stop a demo so I wouldn't have lengthy demos to look through. To bind you just simply do
/bind x record and
/bind v stoprecord in the console The the x key will record and the v key will stop the demo. While making a demo the demo's name will appear in the bottom left corner. The very first demo you make the name will be demo0000, the 2nd demo0001, 3rd demo0002, etc. Using the record feature will not lower FPS like Fraps does so you can game and get frags like you normally do.
I also used the program called COD4 Player. You can download it here:
http://www.cybopat.net/vb_cod4player_eng.php
In that program you can fast forward through demos, go in 3rd person while viewing a demo, and slow down demos. You just need to know where you have your demos stored so you can view them through COD4 player. COD4 player will open up the game to view the demo.
Then to get your demos into regular readable video files you use fraps while watching your demos. This way the lowered FPS of fraps will not affect your gaming. With my PC I can average 100 FPS using Fraps while watching a demo, but I have to lower my graphics a lot to get that FPS. Fraps video sizes are really big. For that 5min COD4 frag video I mentioned earlier I used 30gb of Frap videos.
Hope that helps.
