I will go ahead like I always do and express my distaste for the HDD noise I experienced with this case. I returned it because I could hear my HDD over all my fans on high. I am considering buying it again because NewEgg has a combo deal of the 1200 and Velociraptor for $70 off.

I've asked this numerous times, but has anyone had any issue with noisy HDDs in this case? When I started Vista the HDDs went completely nuts and were making all kinds of noise. In my Antec P182, however, I cannot hear them because of the rubber isolation mounting system.

As soon as NewEgg credits my account back for the Antec 1200, I think I'm going to order another one and a Velociraptor.

It's not problem with HDDs but problem of hard HDD mounting whose effect is strengthened by direct noise escape paths everywhere.
P182 is very good example about case with features which make case quiet while 1200 is example of case whose every design solution is "noisy".

You're the only person I've ever heard of having that problem. My HDD's are completely silent and I can't hear a thing, so the problem you have is almost 100% unique. I could understand your HDD's making weird noises in a tool-less case but not with a case that you screw your HDD's into. The whole purpose for doing that the last time I checked is to reduce vibration which thus reduces the noise.

I wish you the best of luck with your problem because I don't think anyone on here will be able to help you solve such a bizarre issue. But I definitely wouldn't give up on the case just yet

My case is completely quiet so I have no clue what you're talking about with this "noisy" business

I can't hear my HDD either, not over a 4870 at 70% fan speed at least lol. Although the whole damn thing is getting drowned on Friday

Come Friday/Saturday I expect to post a crapload of pics of the new build. My only set back is going to be the fact that I may not be getting my HX1000 watt until *maybe* Sunday so cable management would be out until then. Let's face it, for the amount of crap I'll be putting into this 1200 650 watt isn't going to cut it. Maybe not even for trial runs :/

EDIT: Another delay might be the little swiftech chipset cooler I got, I don't think it'll fit on my bonetrail - getting a little ancy about that one, it would set me back a whole nother week. Pulling out my hair having a stack of parts and one little item may be holding up the entire build. Like having a Ferrari with no keys.

ow put me up

i got one as well

don`t have any pics here tho
(i`m at work now...again!)
but i`ll post some tonight.
also i`m thinking about changing all the leds in the case cause i don`t like blue.
i`m in doubt between UV leds and change those myself, or just get new fans?
i would love to get new fans cause that`s a lot faster than changing out all the leds, but can i then still use the stock fancontrollers on the 1200?

K, I'll turn this into a 300/900/1200 club in the next few days. I'm gonna be real busy since I have to work a-lot, but it will get done. I had planned on doing it just like the CM690 thread because it has a very clean look to it and it's easy to navigate.

If you own a 300 or 900 you can go ahead and start posting pictures, discussing your cases, etc. I'll make sure to add everyone to their respective lists in the coming days.

It's housing my old dell rig. I took out the tricools that came with it and put them in my cm690
, I got a blue tricool for the rear exhaust I'll be getting a yate loon for the top and two 1200rpm slipstreams for the front
! Madness..

Curious for the 1200 are the switches above the I/O shield the switches for the tricool fans? It looked like there was 4 switches(2 rear, 1 top, 1 where else?)

those switches are for the 2 rear fans, 1 for the top fan, and 1 for the lighting of the top fan

i would like to know if i can use those with any other fan

Oh thats pretty cool.. I was thinking about the 1200 for my main rig and keeping the 690 for the cheap/dell rig. Though unfortunately I didn't have more than $60 that I eventually paid for the 300.

before my 1200 i had a NZXT Apollo and i thought that was enough for me.
then my girlfriend bought me the 1200 for my b-day, cause she knew i loved how it looked, and know i can`t even think about going back to a midi case...big case ftw

and the cooling is just absurd
my NB temps dropped almost 20c when i switched from Apollo to 1200 lol
