The Antec 300/900/1200 Owners Thread - Page 12

Add me to the 1200 team! Got it two days ago and will be building tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to take some pics!

A couple of airflow questions for those who have built their rigs already:

1) How useful/important are the 2 optional fans (GPU/Mid and Side) for an airflow setup?

2) Should the side fan direct air INTO or OUT of the case for optimal airflow?

3) I have a Zalman 9700led CPU heatsink. Should this be mounted in the standard setup that blows air from front to back? I'm not sure if it is possible, but has anyone tried mounting it so that it blows air straight up (therefore venting right out the 200mm bigboy fan on the top of the case)? It seems to me like this might be a good airflow option if it is possible...

My 2x4 pin power cable was rubbing the blades as it was spinning. So I stuck my finger down there and busted 2 blades off

Well I got my Antec 900 today and when I went to install my mobo I found they did not provide me enough standoffs.... and the screws do not tighten... I am going tomorrow to get new standoffs and screws for this bad boy.

Add me to the Twelve Hundred list. Just got this case today, and it is NICE! Sorry about the poor quality pics, as my digital is out of commission and had to use a crumby cell phone.

I've upgraded to a new rig recently:

I plan to do some watercooling on this rig in the next month, and have some red LEDs coming in sometime this week =D

My 900 came in yesterday. From an earlier post, it did come with a video card support bracket. Although it was not mentioned anywhere.

Slightly puzzled. From reviews I've been reading on the web, the case is supposed to weigh 31/36 lbs. The box has a weight on the side that says 18/21 lbs. Also, from the review pictures, the rear of the case shows a small rectangular vent next to the slots. Mine has two holes for water cooling. Is this a new revision or something?

It appears I need to drill some holes in the motherboard chassis to route the wiring behind it. Is the panel sturdy enough for a drill? (Pushing a drill against the panel to make the hole.) Or would it be safer getting a chassis punch?
