I just picked up an old Antec 900 Version 1 case, build date was Sept 2006 I believe. I was wondering what people were doing for dust filters. I'm looking to put a dust filter in front of the 120mm fans. I have a few ideas in mind, but I would love to hear what other people have done as well.

Thanks.

That's a good option, thanks for the pics thumb.gif

Do you think one of these would be viable ? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_463_947&products_id=30036

I was thinking that I could glue or silicone it in place on the front of the plastic fan mount, so it would filter the air before hitting the fan. To clean it, using a combo of a vacuum and compressed air should work.

I also have one of the cages installed into my Corsair 650D. I'm borrowing it until I can get a hold of either a Scythe Kama Bay or Xigmatek fan/drive cage.

I would also like to try the same filtering on it as well. Right now, I have the fan as an exhaust, but would like to filter and turn the fan around as intake. I'm also considering using a pair of nylons to cover the fan. Any ideas would be appreciated thumb.gif

Thanks fellas.

I think using the above option with ModRight FilterRight is really the best way. Although I would just use a double adhesive tape for easy removal of the whole thingl if needed.

Product Details:

ModRight now brings you the highest quality fan filter to date! Unlike plastic fan filters, the aluminum meshing used here allows for more air to pass through while still preventing dust particles from reaching the inside of your PC. This filter is made a two piece design which allows the easy removal of the mesh for easy cleaning without having to take off the entire filter. Not only does this filter perform great, we made the filter mounts in popular colors to give it that extra kick. This way, these filters will look good and help keep your PC clean. These square designed versions add a new great look and create a tighter seal to some fans due to the complete square design. Now you can get the same great ModRight quality in a square design filter!

That is really a great filter man. thumb.gif

I made my own filters using air conditioning filters from Home Depot (or Lowes). It was easy and cheap. I vacuum it thru the front grill weekly and take out the filter for a full vacuum semi-monthly. I have some pictures of it in this thread somewhere. It cost me less that five dollars with extra material to spare.
