you should cut off the steel grill on the back fan... check my casemod log....
it REALLY boosts airflow.

If you end up getting the mb before you paint. Try to do the holes for wire management first. That way you don't scatch the paint job. And it's easier seen you have it all apart now. CyberDruid sales a nice kit for the holes. Just a thought. And yes you can paint the screws black. I have seen it do here. Just stick them in a foam and paint.

Black screws.

yea i want to do the cable management before i paint but im not sure how im gona do it yet, we will see as this build progresses.

what are you talking about exactly? i think i already did that unless im mistaken.

Alright so some things to note.
1.) i am going to try painting the screws and nuts black and test fit it to see how it works.
2.) ive decided to also eliminate the drive bays ,add a hdd stabilizer, and screw my fans to the front bay things, im going to consider this for the next day or so and may start on it tomorow.

Day 3.5-Paint practice and a long session of filing.

Alright guys i have a massive update on my hands and im ready to bombard you with pictures but first i have some sad news i would like to share with you today. EDIT: cat has been found. If you dont care skip ahead but this (IS) my kitty bacardi.

EDIT: he came back after 5 days in the void.

Anyway now that were past that time for pictures. Oh and btw at the request of a few people i am posting more pictures than i used to tell me if you like/dislike the onslaught of pictures that i bring.

alright so this is how the panel looked like at the start of the day

this is my horrible excuse for a work bench lawl

started cutting some holes

a few down

well i learned a valuble lesson about how not to use a drill bit on a dremel. it appears i pushed to hard and i melted the friggin bit.

so i went out and bought a new drill bit and a bigger file, cutting much better this time.

alrighty all done with the holes.

after a crapload of filing

and the finished product.

then i set up some acrylic

the cuttin looks smooth

and it came out well.

im not sure if you can tell but i managed not to scratch it

next i put it together, now its lookin good

next i need to paint the screws and the panel.

throughout the day i also test painted a peace of metal so i could learn how to paint right.

smooth and ready to go

some primer

some black

and finaly done

not perfect but i learned some things

this work area sucks i need a workbench

test sleeved a cable for fun

these are some pics of my room while im modding, i have no where else i can put this stuff

and while im at it this is the computer im upgrading from, isnt it beuitiful?

the rest of the setup isnt as bad

Alright thats all tell me what u think of the mass of pictures, More/Good/Less? Tomorow i will be workin on the front fan setup(getting rid of the ugly hdd cages) and will prolly be setting up another peice to paint black, need experience before that fancy mirage gets here. my parts should arrive monday-tuesday from newegg and performance-pcs so expect some fun stuff to happen around then.

Thanks for watching! ^_^

the build is coming along nicely. glad to see you got the dremel window cuts done, it looks great (dremel cutting has a little bit of a learning curve )

for the record, I do swear by tapping fluid on all metal drilling and holesawing, etc but never on dremel cutting disk cuts! nor during filing/grinding
just wanted to clear that up

keep up the good work
