600-800$ Build

Thread Starter
I'm new to building computers and am in need of a decent gaming pc for mostly old games. My price ranges are 600-800 and have been looking on newegg for a few weeks but cannot seem to find exactly what i want. Please assist me in completeing my build.

Games: TF2, CSS, Cod4, Warcraft 3, possibly warhammer online when it is released.

The gpu is a great suggestion, it rivals the 4850

The ram, 4GB>2GB

Also, if you want a quad, and you have about $80 to spare, I can suggest a quad.

my Electronic Offspring build below came out to approx. $600 after rebates from MSI and OCZ. I am currently playing Bioshock and it is running flawlessly,

Don't bother with nVidia cards ATM. The 8800GT is a really bad suggestion. It is too close in price to the 4850 to consider buying.

Using the whole budget of $800, I came up with this:

The power supply is basically the same as a VX450, so it is very high quality, while saving a lot of cash. You can save a lot more by going with a lower end processor than the Q6600, and/or getting a P35-DS3L.
