I'm going to try and go to a Dell store for the monitor, so no dead pixels and whatnot. I'll look into those monitors as well.
100% possible. As long as they're the same socket (LGA 775) you can upgrade to a quad. Some boards might need to upgrade the BIOS if it is a 45nm quad, but the 790i won't need it I don't think, and I would assume most of the newly made boards will have the new BIOS updated already.

If you decide to go ATI Crossfire over SLI then get a X48 motherboard. Then you will be safe for switching your currently selected dual core out for a quad down the road. Same with the P45 boards and you can do Crossfire with them as well but with the X48 boards you are able to run both video cards at x16 PCI-E.

To stay with your currently selected memory I would recommend either of these X48 boards for a ATI Crossfire build...

I've taken all considerations. The main things that I'm still confronted with is what video card to get. I'm going with Nvidia for the sake of this build. And I admit the new ATI card does look very impressive. However, I just feel better having Nvidia. I don't know if I should stick what I have, and wait to get another in the future, or get SLI 9800's instead.

That thing will be a complete dream!

I'd say stick with nvidia if it's what you want. Your guts know best man.
Also, get an evga GTX 280 and then you have access to the step up program when nvidia get some wind back in their sails.

EDIT: Just noticed the GTX 280 in that list IS an evga!
This rig will be a monster.

Wooo, okay. Now I need to find a heatsink for the CPU. Any recommendations(or should I start a new topic in the CPU heatsink section)?

Tuniq Tower 120
Thermalright Ultra Extreme
OCZ Vanquisher

All those will perform similarly. Lots of people choose the TRUE because they're sheep. The Tuniq looks the coolest imo.

A tuniq tower would do perfect. Also, since you have the money, I suggest your get yourself an X48 board (with DDR2 ram obviously), and two 4870s.

If your getting any dual core CPU, go with the tuniq tower, but if youre going with a quad, go with a Q9550 and a Xigmatek S1283 + retention bracket.

EVGA 750i FTW is also a beast overclocker with the option to go sli. Here's what I would go with if I were you.

Intel Q9550
Xigmatek S1283 + bracket
2x2GB g.Skill DDR2-1000 PC8000
evga 750i FTW
2xGTX 280 in sli
Samsung Spinpoint 750GB hard-drive - or 2 WD 320GB in raid
samsung DVD burner
