Opinions Build for GF's daughter

No major games. Just a good computer for basic tasks that'll last awhile (will be running windows xp pro). Overclocking will probably be moderate to none.

Suggestions are appreciated, lower cost the better!

LOL nice case. The build looks good, and quite affordable.

However, I would go for the combo deals with the Rosewill Mouse + Keyboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826193027

Save a couple bucks and you get a keyboard / mouse that matches.

I'd Craigslist the monitor and invest a little more in the power supply. I personally don't like Kingston RAM or Foxconn motherboards, so here's two minor changes I would make:

Motherboard
$58 - Gigabyte G31

RAM
$19.50 - OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2x1GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-15 (after $30 MIR)

But the big change I would make is a PSU that will last more than 3 months. Here's a great case/PSU combo IMO. Considerably more than the $25 combo you have there, but causes less seizures and honestly, you get what you pay for with PSU.

$76 - Antec Solution Series Case w/ Earthwatts 380W PSU (free shipping)

I think over the long run that will actually save you money, and will definitely save you the hassle of replacing a busted power supply that potnetially took other parts with it. Not to mention it's a tad easier on the eyes

EDIT: If you're set on the pink case, at least consider one of these Earthwatts PSU's:

$30 - 380W (free shipping)
$30 - 430W (after $30 MIR, free shipping)
