I have been agonizing over a 24" monitor upgrade for over a month. My Samsung 226BW has been stellar for gaming but given my graphics cards, I figured it was time to move up to 1920x1200.
I was debating between the BenQ V2400W or LG L246WH-BN, both at the $399 price point.
I use this system for gaming (COD4, GRID, and others).
I went to the supplier showrooms and had a look at both monitors. While there, they were running GRID on all 3 monitors (the samsung as well).
The color on the Samsung won hands down.
Not completely convinced I called LG and BenQ regarding their dead/stuck pixel policy as I wanted to get a monitor with neither.
LG will replace a monitor if there are stuck pixels but allows up to 4 dead. BenQ has a similar policy.
Samsung, on the other hand will replace a monitor if it has any stuck or dead pixels... period.
So not only are colors more vibrant between the 3 on the samsung, not only does it have two usb ports (which is irrelevant to me) and has the ability to rotate the screen to vertical alignment (neither lg or benq can do that), but it also has the best warranty.
Oh, and its $50 cheaper than the other two.
So I bought it and hooked it up. I got zero dead or stuck pixels (Which was a relief
).
Fired up Call of duty 4 and changed my res to 1920x1200 (left 4x aa and all other settings to max). My FPS didn't drop over what I was getting with the 226BW. I'm averaging 150-200 FPS (and I have FPS capped at 200 with COD4) running at 1920x1200.
Gotta love this video card.
So in summary, I saw some reviews that were less than steller for the 245B. However, the 2443 BW HAS is a very impressive monitor.
And its only $350...
