Typically that suggests your motherboard can't handle such high FSB's with a quad - either boost the NB, or you're out of luck.

I'm having the same problem; I'm planning on either a new Gigabyte board or an Asus P5Q Deluxe.

mine locks up after the loader also, at 3.8ghz, could it not be a heat issue?

I always hear "Don't go intel" when it comes to a high performance motherboard but, if you can get a Bonetrail or Bonetrail 2. The X38/X48 chipsets have a bit of power behind them and are pretty easy overclockers. Once you learn the board your 9450 should have about a 4GHz wall.

Haha yeah I'll join the club! CPU-Z in my sig.

About the 750i, I have never been big on nVidia chipsets since I'm pretty much die hard ATI, even in the bad years. I haven't heard of many high overclocks of the 9450 on the 750i (or it could have been the 780).

In the last couple of days I've gone from XP 32bit, XP 64bit, and Vista Ultimate 64 bit all on this rig and while I like vista a lot, it still doesn't hold a candle to XP pro 32. Insanely fast with my RAID setup. I would say locking up at anytime is usually too little volts going through the NB/FSB. The processor can stay at 1.3 and should be able to achieve 3.8GHz. Mine's at 1.29 idle/1.26 load. When pushing for 4GHz I'll have my NB at 1.675v and the FSB at 1.5v and I still can't get it stable.

ah, i cannot get the NB any higher than 1.55 i heard on Nvidia chipsets, lower fsb voltages is better, but ill try bumping it on, im gnna setup a loop for my cpu later, then my NB when i find the right blocks for the 750i

whats your voltages right now btw? and do you know your batch#?
