Recover Forgotten CD-Keys VIA Registry

Thread Starter
Hello guys. Today I will be showing you how to recover cd keys for installed games on your system. Have you installed a game, and then lost your cd key? This happened to me a few weeks ago with cod4, so i searched my registry and found my cd and wrote it down -_^. Here's how.

1. Press Windows Key+R to bring up "Run" and input : regedit

2.Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and expand it

3.Find Software and expand it

4.Locate the games maker, in this case Activision, and expand it, then find the game and expand it. You will see (x)key (x being whatever game key your looking for). In this case it is codkey. That is your cd key .

5. Enjoy!

This could be useful information, at some point. Hadn't thought of this but it makes sense now that you point it out. Thanks for the info.

Yep. For call of duty 4 you can edit it the registry, and to be 100 percent sure you go into Multiplayer options and verify the keycode. Then go and play a server for a few minutes so it "saves" the data and then your fine ^_^
