imma stop here before i really get going.....
If you're into Old tech that no one likes and no one wants to use anymore, I suggest you find a site that's main focus isn't "THE PURSUIT OF PERFORMANCE"... You'll find you get a lot less flames.

And why should we not say upgrade? given a budget, and a numberous amounts of options, I'd say we give the most informed and well-backed suggestions on the internet.

When a person has money, and the ability to obtain a nice computer to play the graphic heavy games they try to play, but downright REFUSE to listen to anyone's advice, and then proceed to keep trying to shove it down our throats that "they like it" and thats the ONLY reason they can come up with, they are going to catch some flak for it.

Sorry.

Well fact is , 90% of all pc gamers do not use old rigs. Which is fine, but i think people should be able to use whatever they like. And this goes for anything, computers, cars, whatever.......But hey it is what it is, people will always find something to complain about, so my advice , just ignore it and continue playing what you have or want to use.

No need for that, i already said i am buying my secondary computer soon. I was thinking about upgrading this computer with a higher speed, but i said i was just going to buy a new computer. I am going to get a Gateway Duo core 2 with a 4670 card, however i have no plans to tell anyone the day its in my house, until i have set everything up. But i will have it soon, believe that.

Sorry.
I already said many many many times, that i really do like using PCI cards. Maybe i am just use to it, but fact is i like them. I will force myself to play a game that is giving me 5-10fps, why? Because for some reason it doesn't bother me. But then again, there is only 3 games that i have played or own that gives me those fps. 10fps in Crysis? Perfect for me. There are billions of people in the world my friend, not everyone is going to be on the same page about things........

I am done with this thread, goodnight & keep it cool and peaceful

Waste of money. But its your money so whatever I don't care. I'd rather build it myself.

You need a $1000 dollars to build a decent gaming rig, so a $100 towards a temporary PCI video card is a realistic investment to me.
Using it for a temporary improvement, yeah, that's alright.

But being Legendary and using it for your gaming rig and refusing to upgrade?

I can't wait until his P3 is too slow to play anything and he has to upgrade...

PNY 8400GS 512MB PCI = ($84 dollars)

Creative Labs - Sound Blaster Audigy SE = 29.99
2 Diamond PCI Sound cards( for backups ) = 15 dollars each, $30

When i was using 96megs of ram when i bought this computer i added a extra ram stick $50 dollars for one stick of 128 ram. Later i bought 2 sticks to make 512MB. 256MB Dell stick $36 dollars, and one gateway stick 256 $36 dollars.

What can i say, i love my PIII............I will make better choices when i buy my next computer.

I started writing a post on my dismay upon reading this, but about half way through, I realized something. No matter what facts we bring, truths be told, benchmarks posted, etc. You will continue to proverbially bash your head into the wall.

I really suppose it's your prerogative. I guess I just can't stand the nonsensical...

Now, to be COMPLETELY ON TOPIC!!!
If this card isn't too terribly expensive it might make a great card for mini-PCs stuck on int. graphics or HTPCs. A micro-ITX dual-core w/ one of these might make an interesting mini-pc

Well legendary is maybe one of those people who live by the 24FPS is the max the eye can see?

Seriously $1200???..
Get that gateway a rest and just buy the cheapest PC you can get and woalla there you have a 15x faster PC than you current PC. You already have HDD's and a monitor. so just get to newegg and buy these stuff:
CPU: Intel Pentium E2180
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP35
RAM: Just by some 2x1GB or 2x512MB 4-4-4-12 mems...
PSU: Corsair 650W
Simple super cheap and costs alot less than what you've spent n that Gateway PoopIII
EDIT: all the links didn't work, may be something wrong, don't care anyway, these things get so irritating to talk about anyway...
