It depends on the board, but some places to search for the revision/version number: A sticker on a PCI slot (usually the bottom-most one); a silkscreened notation between some DIMM slots; a silkscreened notation in the expansion slot area; near the 24-pin ATX power connector. Typically it will give you the motherboard model name, then the revision/version number (i.e., Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe Rev. G.0.1 or something similar).

As far as which BIOS is on there, you need to be booted onto the machine to find that out, unfortunately. In your case, that might be impossible (since you're now RMAing the board). Hopefully someone can chime in with a solution.

Good luck, and hope this helps!

If you are using the Online RMA, it might be more annoying.
They will probably (over 80%) have a Tech to send you a reply giving you trouble shoot options.
Even if they do not, they will ask you to talk to a Tech and get a Confirmation Number which I believe includes 6 numbers/characters and then call back the RMA department to do the RMA.
If you cannot get the BIOS revision, usually I just re-write the Motherboard's name. They have no problem with that.

You do not have to get too stuck with it. As long as you talk to their Tech's directly, it will be really quick. At most 15 minutes. Just tell them you need to make an RMA and then they will send you to X level tech and then just say it still does not work after what the tech tells you, and then they will give you number and transfer you back to RMA department and everything will be finished after giving them the number and verifying some information.

Oh, okay, the board is still functional. That simplifies things.

Somewhere in the BIOS or the splash screens (again, this varies depending on the motherboard), the version number or date will be noted; you just have to be vigilant (and be able to read and write it down fast) and nab it before it disappears.

Alternatively, if you have Everest Ultimate, this will display the BIOS version as well. I'm not sure anymore if Belarc Advisor, which is a free and safe download, also displays the BIOS version, but it's a very small program and is worth a try.

Good luck!

haha, no problem.
Yup, I had a bit too much experience with ASUS on the failing motherboard. I think it was just my luck choosing the wrong board from them. Though that was my first/second ASUS motherboard, I am still going to trust them. You spelled Wednesday right by the way, and you repeated it a lot.

Which shipping did you use with newegg.com? They usually are quick. I never tried any other options besides 3 Days Ground. They usually ship it within 3 days; never on the third day.

I hope you got your RMA!!
