And this is probably my best solo killspree... Happened years ago but I still brag about it smile.gif This is why you watch D-scan like a nervous gerbil on meth while mining in a wormhole. And don't sit all your barges directly on top of the same roid. Which can be bookmarked from a distance while in a cloaky ship for use as a warp in for your HIC. Just sayin'

Very much so, but it still takes some determination to make it through the first 2 weeks. EVE really is a masochist's game...

When I sold my rig 2 years ago, I thought I had left this game behind with a heavy heart and a depressing feeling in my gut. I really enjoyed the game but couldn't get 'into' it due to the fact that

A : You don't make money until you got into LowSec
B : Organizations are 90% composed of idiots and I'm a -team- guy.
C : It's hard to start an Organization without Credits.

The last I played, I had gotten my Abadon, insured it, Trained a few things, and logged out. =/ I'd love to get back into the game, but I'd want to be part of a productive group and actually enjoy some gameplay beyond running pointless missions that get me nowhere.

I may join back up as soon as all of my equipment for my new rig arrives.

A: One of the biggest ways to make money in game is based entirely in highsec: level 4 mission running. It can be eye-bleed boring at times, but it's solid income.
B: You are in the wrong corps. The NPC starter corporation is more of a placeholder than an actual organization.
C: You probably don't want to start a corp yourself until you've got a solid understanding of the game. Check out recruitment threads/channels... EVE's best gameplay is based around teamwork.

A : Yeah, exactly. =/ Sadly don't have enough trained skills to really get into those missions and survive solo. I know the answer to that.
B : I left the starter Corp a loooong time ago. It's simply - It's very hard to locate a corp that is in it for the long run and actually has set goals instead of " Okay, I'm bored. What do we do? Herp Derp"
C : I've played the game off and on for the past 3 years. I understand a decent amount, but nowhere near what I feel I need to. It's something I need to sit down and really immerse myself in.

Sounds like to me that you need to find people to enjoy the game with. I would suggest to join as many active public ingame channels as you can. While you're doing missioning, you just mingle with people across the different channels as you please. Enough time passes and you'll grow contacts with people in these channels, and hopefully find a group of people you enjoy hanging around with or find a specific activity you enjoy doing.

For example, when i started out i joined various channels and eventually found myself in the wormhole business. High class wormholes are insanely fun, encourage fleet cooperation since its impossible to do solo, plus you can get more isk in wormholes than any PVE related activity (considering you're in C5 or C6).

Ingame channels you could join:
helpmymissions
help (the standard help channel).
Eve uni
Eve radio

You can join others, but those are just a few.

Get a Rifter and join a big 0.0 alliance. Every fleet can use a hero tackle Rifter, and 0.0 space will offer you good money making abilities through ratting and PI (unless you're in the Pure Blind region (where I happen to be ))

Just started my trial and am loving the game so far!

Do you have to buy the game or is it just playable for $15 a month?
