I would have to disagree here. Player skill and strategy in EVE plays a much bigger role than most MMOs, especially for PvP. For instance, it's not unheard of to find a character only a few weeks old who was able to take down a multiple year old character. Of course this doesn't happen if the general strategy is to orbit at your optimal range and slug each other in the face until someone blows up.

Also all of the different counters in the game really makes things interesting.

When "incarna" released a huge drama storm started (and rightfully so IMO). Its a long story . Basically mass sub-cancelations and riots in Jita and Amarr (shooting the statues outside of the hub stations etc.).

Alot contributed but its tough to explain properly, people will tend to blow 1 thing out of proportion instead of giving the whole story.

It all started with a leaked internal newsletter that the CCP developers use to sort of debate changes for the game. The newsletter is supposed to be kept internal, as they argue about everything.

Well, the one that leaked was a newsletter where developers were arguing for and against a market in the game where you could buy modules and ships with real money that would be better than regular/faction ships/mods in the game. Essentially, it seemed like they were going to start a "Pay2Win" system, where the player who bought more mods would have an advantage.

Players are also generally unhappy that CCP is focusing more energy on releasing different Captains Quarters than making more ships or improving game mechanics.

They're also slowly making Ninjaing more and more difficult by making scanning more difficult and stealth-nerfing game mechanics we use to kill mission bears.

I liked eve a lot back in the day. I started playing during the beta but over the years the game has changed so much I don't particularly play any more. I keep a character training just because I don't want to change my mind and have nothing. Since I'm currently well over 100m sp I don't forsee wanting to cancel the account and sell off years worth or training, but I can't bring myself to play regularly like I used to either.

I'm considering coming back to Eve-Online but I'm afraid of not joing a corp I will like, and I refuse to play without a corp as I like to socialize when playing games. I have an old account with about 6-7m SP from Caldari if I remember correctly that I'm trying to get back up through a petition. I would only consider coming back if I could get into a corp right off the bat, but my problem is I'm particular about the corps I join because I want to like the people who I play with.

I prefer older players who are mature but don't mind the use of liberal language in vent or through chat channels, and first and foremost everyone is laid back and enjoy BS'ing with each other. I would like the corp to have quit a few players with a decent number of very experienced players to learn from. For me a corp means working together and if there aren't experienced players to learn from and play with I would end up finding myself learning on my own, and that's counter productive to what a corp actually is. I also would like the corp to have progressed pretty far so there's more things to do.

I'm sorry if I sound selfish but if you don't like the people who your playing with whats the point in playing.

Not selfish, just know what you want to make your gametime more enjoyable...nothing wrong with that at all. What the average size you look for in a corp?
