Glad to announce that my corp, Dragon Labs (ticker: DRGL), is now openly recruiting. OCN members are encouraged to join - all are welcome The corp's main focus is to be an OCN-friendly group and to provide a quiet, laid-back environment where folks can do what they like - but where we can get to know one another, do various fun things together, and perhaps even grow together as eve players. formal activities can be planned (though of course not mandatory); specifics depend on interest level. current members have experience running incursions, living in wormholes, small gang pvp, and plenty of various hisec carebearing. If you've any questions, ask away here or drop me a message! If this sounds like the sort of corp you'd like to hang out in and want to send in an app, let me know who you are either way, fly safe (or don't!)

Quick question. I continued on with the tutorials last night and took on the first security mission. It was the one where you have to nick back the soft drink formula from a rogue employee. Long story short I was blown up twice. The first time I returned to where I got the mission expecting it to have failed but it was still active. I returned in what seemed to be my reaper but it was missing a shield generator. I returned to try complete the mission but I was blown out of space again. I quit the game in my escape pod at the rogue employees location. Could someone explain what the score is when your ship is destroyed? Do I lose everything or just some things? Also, where am I supposed to return to in my pod? And one final thing, am I trying to tackle these security bits too early?

When a ship blows up, its gone. anything that was on/in it has a chance of dropping in the wreck so it can be looted.TBH the rookie ship is really sub-par for lvl1's outsideof the tut's if thats what you were doing.

Thanks, I'm not really sure if I was outside of the tutorials or not OK, I found a FAQ on a random EVE forum that explained about ships that are destroyed. It was simply replaced when I got back to a space station. I think tonight I will perhaps try out some mining. Walk before I can run etc!

Join the overclock.net channel and ask someone about fitting a ship and the general tactics for flying a ship in combat. I bet you'll be up and running within an hour or two knocking down missions without losses.

Overclock channel? How is that done? In game? EDIT: OK, worked it out. My character is Wade Hakler

I want to love this game, I really do. At the moment however its leaving me tearing my hair out (not much left of that anyway!). I still can't beat the mission I had issues with a couple of posts ago. The area I was in seemed to have only security missions so it seemed pointless me trying to do so in my current fit. I had a shield generator once I had completed the tutorials but now I only have a couple of lasers. Just don't feel confident I can come out on top in a dogfight. Also, I would replace the shield generator but I genuinely have no idea what the item even was, let alone know where to find it. This all overlooks the fact that I have 140,000ISK which seems like pennies in this game. I see people talking in the chat channel about raking in 40mil in "background mining" whatever that is. The nearest system with distribution missions (I imagine they are easier) is 19 bloody jumps away! I have stuck my autopilot and I am currently watching it rattle through space as I type this. Its moments like this where I sit back a look at the scale of the thing and marvel at it. If you have ever had a thing for things Sci Fi this literally is the ultimate escapism. Its just so infuriatingly hard and unforgiving to get into!

Dragon Labs did some failcursions last night - that's what I like to call them, because it takes us like 10 mins a site because we only had 8 chars - a few just in hurricanes. had to sit an extra 2 on the gate in frigates for the full rewards my point: do you feel intimidated by incursions, but drawn by the promises of decent ISK? are you only able to fly a well-fit BC and not a bling-d out faction bship, and thus always get passed over in pubs? if either of these are true, maybe you'd like to run with us Drop me (TitanHydra) a message if interested!

PS - fudge, wanna go die hilariously in lowsec together sometime soon? i'm itchin for some mayhem
