I've only been at OCN a short time and I just saw this thread today. I been playing EVE for 4 years, I have 6 accounts and something like 12 Characters. It's pretty much the only game I play right now. I have ben been playing solo for mostly the last 2 years. I'd be interested in Dragon Lasb if they are in Null Sec... I'll check it out... drunken.gifwave2.gif

I joined last night and there were several people on. Dragon Labs is a high sec corp with mostly players alts in it.. Not sure what you were looking for, but I figured I would pass that info on..

They seem pretty friendly and helpful.

hey gang, I've seen some posting about my dear corp, Dragon Labs, and thought now might be a nice time to say a little about it, especially with some new faces in this thread. Read on if interested about the corp, otherwise ignore smile.gif Storytime!

Dragon Labs was originally created around the summer of 2010, shortly after I and a few of my RL friends started playing EVE. We ran missions, tried to mine some, and did a lot of the usual stuff that new players do. It was fun at the time and I learned a lot, and I wouldn't touch most of it again with a ten foot pole. During this time, it became apparent that one friend and I approached the game in a very similar way; we both loved to read voraciously, maximize our potential in whatever we did, etc. He's now the corp director, and the rest of our friends have since lost interest in playing, one by one.

Anyways, we decided by that fall that we wanted to pursue life in wormholes. After several successful forays into wormhole space, we set up shop in a terrible little c1, and made our first little fortune. We lost a few ships, got our first couple ganks, and continued to learn a lot. Eventually, we moved to a c4 with a c1 static - this was cool, because we always had the easy sites to run, but we could use a little more challenge running the c4s as a group. However as our other friends lost interest in the game, Mar (the aforementioned director) and I were strained by the upkeep of the wormhole by ourselves. We moved out, and floundered around for a while, deciding what to do. Over this time, each of us had acquired several alt accounts, and kept them afloat by manufacturing. It's boring, but it pays the bills. I know that there were a couple other short-lived wormhole stays that we made in various places, with some great and some not so great battles, but it's more of the same and I'm sure you bored enough already with my long-winded corp history smile.gif

...And yet it continues! After a while, another old friend came back to the game, and brought a couple of his friends along. I posted about the corp in this thread, and talked us up in the in-game channel overclock.net . We started growing, without really trying to, and had to have something to do to keep folks interested. By this time, we were living in a c2 with a static c1 and a static hisec. Some folks seemed to enjoy the wormhole life, but it wasn't for everyone. We got into incursioning as a corp, and that quickly became most of the newer players' preferred method of income; it was easy, risk-free, and honestly, Mar + his alts and I + my alts basically carried anyone that came. Eventually this got boring, and as Mar and I preferred less and less to make money we didn't need for people too spoiled to make it on their own, many of them either left the corp or the game. This was fine by us, as hadn't really cared about growing the corp at that point. The corp shrunk to Mar, myself, our numerous alts, another RL friend or two, and a few old OCN fogeys that didn't have anywhere better to go. This corp growth-shrink period happened earlier this year, by the way.

Mar and I decided a few months ago that we'd now focus our energies into growing the corp, but for real. Unfortunately, I had just accepted a new job and was finishing a pretty time-consuming masters degree, so we decided to wait on recruiting until the end of this year, when both of us would be more available to play and lead in a hands-on way. In the meantime, our playtime consisted of discussing what our goals would be as a corp, and fattening our wallets in preparation for corporate expenses.

Basically, we've decided to stick our noses out into lowsec, and see how it goes. We want to be a pvp-focused corp. Like any decent pvp corp, we'll have a ship replacement program, planned roams, and all that jazz. We're viewing our upcoming time in lowsec as educational and preparatory; we know how to fight and survive in wormhole space, but we haven't spent a ton of time in kspace. This will prepare us for an eventual move to nullsec. In one sense, we're at a dull time, because we're just embarking on our new goals. But in another sense, we're in a very exciting time - a formative time - because the members that play with us now and mesh with our core players will shape the future of the corp. Now the unpleasant part where I convince you to buy a timeshare wink.gif - If you've stuck with me reading this long, you may have an idea of whether or not Dragon Labs interests you. We aren't about having egos or feeling entitled, but if neither of those apply to you, maybe we'd get along. Throw in an application mentioning OCN, or if you'd like to talk or know more, post here or send me (in-game name: TitanHydra) a mail. Fly safe (or don't!)

I'm in your guys public chat right now. Have a small corp that if you're doing low sec, we might be able to provide the ship replacement program for you...Alliance maybe?

that's what makes me keep wanting to leave the game. how do I bring this back up?

train the fast talk skill and kill rats for the sec status.

If you are getting bored i would suggest you join Red v Blue to get your pvp juices flowing.

Our small alliance has been doing low sec roams, mostly in cruisers with T1 logi (armor), for about a month now with good results. There are a few vets and a bunch of people old and new that were new to PVP. We are now looking to take more people in. If Dragon Labs or anyone else here is interested whether solo pilots or corps, let me know. It doesn't take a whole lot to get into it, even if you are newer. The ships are dirt cheap. It doesn't have to be a corp-wide commitment either, just any pilots that want to jump in are welcome to.
