Try upping the VTT (fsb term. voltage) and PLL, also as up suggests you should put -30mv on CPU GTLVref 1 and 3, that helps the stability in my experience. Another thing you can try if you can't get it stable is to up pcie freq to 101.
With your chip I'd rather try 440 x 10 or something similar if your ram can handle it, as I'd surprised if that cpu couldn't handle that fsb, as my POS q9450 can handle 425fsb and in it's glorious days I could get it to 435.
Please fill in you system specs so we can see it in your sig like you can in ours. You can do this under User CP and add system in the left hand menu.

My hottest cores run at 68@ 3.85 on large FFT with my H50 so something is wrong with your setup. Maybe a reseat of your cpu water block is in order,...and of course if you have the rad inside the case it doesn't help unless you're pulling in cool air from outside the case?
The ram I got is: Corsair Dominator GT CMP4GX3M2C1600C7 CL7-8-7-20 1600.
It's a 2 x 2GB kit, and I got myself two kits, so 4 x 2GB
It plays very well with the Rampage Extreme.
You just have to give the NB ~1.35v and it will work without having to mess with memory skews (too hard for me anyways).
You can even get it running on 1N instead of 2N if you give the ram 1.67v instead of 1.65v.
However overclocking with 8GB is much harder compared to 4GB.
My CPU doesn't like a multipliers above 10.0 and my NB doesn't like 8GB of ram faster than >1700MHz, overvolting the NB doesn't help either.
I guess the X48 was never certified to work with 8GB of ram @1600MHz anways.
So far my goal of 4.2GHz seems most stable using 420 x 10.

So this is what I have so far.
As mentioned earlier, this cpu will probably hit 4.5GHz but only on higher bus speeds, 400 x 11 wont work no matter how much vcore it gets.
And the motherboard doesn't like 8GB of ram at 1700+.
So I guess I'll have to be happy with 4.2GHz then.
