That is your opinion, others would suggest the same about the 1000w or 1200w PC & P PSU.
It's not just people's opinions that make Corsair such a well respected PSU, its a fact that they make a quality PSU.

And btw, the OP did ask for opinions:

hey guys this is going to be my second post and just wanted to update myself with my build and maybe get some opinions on whats good and what's not.
Anyway, i'll second a Corsair PSU.

Its important to really look at the amps on the 12v rail rather than the total wattage.

EVGA's stats (for the 9800gtx+):

Quote:
Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amp Amps.)
Minimum 550 Watt for SLI mode system.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 28 Amp Amps.)
Source

You could easily get away with a 750 watt, SLI certified PSU from corsair.

Slider i didn't mean that to come off bad, i was just making a point. That's a great PSU and a good piece of advice, but saying the PSU is the best isn't true. I've been told the 1000w PC & P is it's equal or maybe it's better. Either way i was just giving my . To the OP you have a couple of really good PSU's to choose from.

dont get the zalman 9700, get the THermalright ultra 120 with 2x120mm fans for push pull action. Its about as best as you can get with air cooling.

If you dont want to spend too much, go for the xigmatek s1283 AND retention bracket
