True, soldering those is difficult especially if you have a solder "gun"

Awesome, thanks CD. I just wish I knew this before when I had just got my 2nd 8800GT. I'll have the 2nd rig built in the next couple weeks most likely for folding, which only has one pci-e slot.

I have made a few of these and they work well. I used 75ohm resistors and it worked too.
That is the diagram I went by.

Thanks for the add

Yeah I pretty much solder if I have to...but I do not have a decent soldering rig and I was looking at getting one for $100 and thought WTH am I doing?

I think any resistance value between about 50ohm-150ohm should work. RadioShack has 68ohm and 100ohm in stock.

Nice. +
Now I might have to do this and put my x850agp back in as primary and see if it cures the "unstable machine" error.

Mine is still kind of wierd. It will only run right is Monitor is on ""3" but when I want to go into BIOS I need monitor on "1" lol...so I have to sap the plug and the monitor back and forth when tweaking...no biggy.

I also see that the second card is Folding slower... not a lot slower...but slower. I've set each client an affinity to a core...but I don't think that's it.

This is incredible, I've been wanting to do this with my backup card haha!

If I was to add something like an 8600gt and 8800gs, would it hurt my 8800gt's 5kish ppd?

Nope the primary card seems to run full speed no matter what....but it seems that the second card does run a touch slower.

I just did what you have listed here, w/100ohm resistors-works without a hitch. I didnt solder them , i just put a slight twist to bind it in.+
