You'd be better off getting an EVGA, XFX or BFG 780i mobo. The Asus P5N-T Deluxe is very unstable and extremely difficult and time consuming to overclock. I think I'm going to sell mine on ebay and look into getting a P45 or X48 board.

I was wondering if my bios version is the reason for my stability problems. Would a different version than 1303 be better...perhaps 1106?

Ive had this board now for 2 weeks and its fine, the second i got it just whacked up the FSB, set Vcore to 1.5v and left everything on else AUTO and its perfect.

Run a 1951mhz rated FSB on it alllllll day long with no problems at all.

Maybe you guys should try a newer BIOS?

I have BIOS 1303

I have one with a Q9550 1.25V Vcore, 1066 ram @ 5-5-5-15 2.21V, C1E(etc...) disabled, rest set to auto. 3.54GHz 38C(ish) Idle, 51C(ish) load. 1MHz above, though, and it wont post. I don't like messing with much else other than vcore and ram.

I have the P5N72-T Premium and I am pretty sure it is practically the same board. I had a nightmare with mine when I first got it but found it was due to my own stupidity. I had a fudged up Orthos install that failed blend no matter what. Took me a week of headaches playing in the BIOS to finally try another stress testing program and found she was stable since first boot. Now that I've been running for awhile, I can say my board is rock solid and has been on without reboot at settings in sig now for weeks and no issues at all. I leave it on all the time, despite that news thread the other day!

I replaced my EP45-UD3(house got struck by lightning and ruined the board) and bought the P5n-t.. The P5N-T is giving me nightmares. At first I thought it was my ram that was causing me to be unstable but it turns out its this board. Return it if you can!!!!

Well I found out a few tricks to overclock this board thanks to AIAD64, I noticed that the speed step was enabled even though I had it disabled, once I enabled it in the bios the board let me push it on up now sitting @ 3.3ghz and I stress tested it for 6 hours and never got above Tc@60c and all cores running about 60c~70c! I am still going to replace the board got a RMA from ASUS but I am just glad to see it get up over the 3ghz mark lol! I am no where a expert at this stuff but if anyone having problems with this board and the Intel Q9550 I have gone over all settings and read about every trick and article from 2007 till date! I think I should put in a app to work at ASUS lol NOT!!!! I do really like playing with computers but this board has made me study way to much stuff about these things. But as I said willing to help now that I got my Problem figured out.

P.S. I also have figured out the pencil mod and done it to this board and it did nothing for me, but that is not saying that it would not work for others!
