yea, its actually smarter than using less. it makes things seem more realtime. say for instance you started to play a game... well vista would back up as much memory as you need and start using that memory for the game.
i mean, why let 700mb go to waste, if you have it available and can use it right now to make it feel faster?

actually, i got my ram for $70 on newegg and it runs excellent. just make sure you overclock it as much as possible because vista does use quite a bit. the faster your ram, the faster your rig will be.
$66 2x2gb here
boy i sure wish cpu's were compatible with ddr5 already.. or graphics ddr. not that they need that type of bandwidth lol, the faster timings would be nice though.
2x2gb running at ddr2-835 (5-4-4-10) for $70 isn't bad. its the blue g.skill kit that newegg says is $40 off... $66 dollars after instant rebate.Edited by fade2green514 - 9/17/08 at 7:27am
