so how could i pencil it in just right to make sure i get the right resistance?

edit: and i dont have a multimeter
and i raised my vcore to 1.368
and manually set my 5-5-5-15 timings, and 1.9 volts on ram

Use a number 2 pencil. And where the pic that shows you where you need to do the mod. Just give it a couple of strokes a cross the resistor.

I had to do the same with my board.. It use to give me a -.05v now it give me a -.02 vcore.

No That why you use a pencil not a conductive pen.

so, i just take a normal no.2 pencil, lightly swipe across that like 2 times and that should be enough resistance but not too much?

maybe i wont...
i read that what intel says is the max voltage for a e8400 is 1.45
meaning going past that can damage and degrade the cpu
so i figure
1.38 is a nice medium, stressing with that right now.

edit:
seems to be working nicely, at 20 minutes, getting to my max time record lol...
and everything is rock solid so far, check the diag on this screenie

edit on that edit:
45 minutes, computer crash, bumping up to 1.389, stressing again, taking a power sleep time

went 5 hours stable.
not sure if it restarted due to instability, or something else. (roommate, many friends ovver)

it was indeed unstable
i talked to roommates etc.
andddd, upped voltage another notch (1.39)
at 25 minutes into this test

Put your nb to the 1.56v setting. You are running at 444fsb which this board is not able to do stably on stock nb voltage.

The vcore doesn't seem to be helping, so try the +nb, and if it's stable start reducing vcore.
