Dell overclocking CPU software

Thread Starter
My friend has a Dell computer. He wants to overclock his CPU with some kind of software since the bios are locked for overclocking. He does have stock heatsink but i'm pretty sure that his CPU temps will be fine. He idles in the low 30's. we just want to overclock to 3.0. any suggestions?

Programs like that are made for the motherboard the computer uses and are usually packaged with motherboards. The only thing I can think that he could do is flash a non-Dell bios that is known to be compatible with the motherboard he has, but there is guarantee that such bios even exists.

Edit: clockgen seems like it should work fine, did a little looking around and its actually a well made program. Just make sure he checks for stability with Orthos/Prim95/OCCT.

Do you know which processor your friend has? He can try out this mod if he's feeling adventurous, but it only works on certain processors.
