Ice_Owl showed us all a trick about that. Using Oven Cleaner and a scotchpad you can strip off the anodizing rapidly. According to the Coaters they can go right over the anodizing but they get better adhesion on raw metal.

The stuff is like a mil thick per coat so it hides a lot of surface imperfections.

They had a sample of "chrome" and it's very shiney...but looks more like silver to me. I think actually getting the thing chromeplated would be sick. I have no idea what that costs...

Sorry for teh double post..But yaeh oven cleaner and a scotch brite pad.. We used to do it to are ano parts when we did the bmx thang..

I am thinking about stuff I want to powdercoat now...like maybe just lengths of aluminum angle and squares of mesh...so when I build tech stations the metal parts will be precoated...
