Ok I read you can remove it with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Now when my cpu is under load it's showing 1.456 which is only a .025 vdroop. When I'm idle it shows 1.440, so the voltages actually go up when under load??
Whatever, works for me, I've been able to lower my voltages overall so I guess it worked after like 20 applications.

Well glad it finally worked itself out. Another thing you might notice is that your voltage stays constant better while under load. My OCCT report on Vcore before went up and down a ton and now pretty much is one straight line. Well sorry you did not have a good experience with it.

Awesome mod!!! I just did it. It takes only 2 minutes. Before my vdrop was exactly 0.05V and now it is 0.032V in idle and 0.016V in load.
Also i was able to set my q6600 Vcore even lower!! I set it to 1.20V in bios so now it runs at 1.168V in idle and 1.184V in load! Its runing prime95 without a problem so far. Amazing for a q6600 overclocked to 3ghz dont u think?
+rep to ljapilot for posting it here
and +1000 rep to the guy who made this mod

tibor28, Glad it worked out for you.
That is an awesome Vcore. I had to have 1.425 to have 3.0 stable (VID 1.325). What is your VID, HT, NB, & SB settings??
If you could post them here http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...overclock.html That would be great.
Thanks
