looking for quiet PSU to my heavy rig

Thread Starter
Hi everybody!

I'm looking for a silent PSU to my rig, i've got lot of hardware so it's need to be strong and i realy care about the noise. so it's need to be quiet.

I read about the "OCZ PS 520W ATX POWERSTREAM" is it good?

right now i have a TT PurePower 480W. and it's loud.

And I not sure if a 520W is good for my rig:

AMD FX53
Radeon X800XT PE
WD Raptor 36GB x2
WD 200GB x2
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
DVD-RW

Is someone can recommand me of a good quiet PSU for me?

Thanx
Ohad

Yea, PowerStreams pretty quiet, or get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103926

20 watts less, but, I trust antec, not as much as OCZ, but I wouldn't doubt antec's reliability for a second.

Your going to need a lot of power to keep that KILLER system stable.
The Raptors alone can consume about 17watts under load!

OCZ are good as well as the Enermax - the 600W are very quiet

NOTE: The Tt are an issue for their design and spec, best avoid them, I use to have the 680W version - quiet but did not perform.

Look at these:

Topower 550 (an OCZ)
Enermax 535
Antec 550
Enermax 600
OCZ 600
PC Power 510

First; thank you all for your replays. they realy helpfull.

iv'e checked most of the PSU listed above and I have 2 more questions;

meny of them offers a "6-pin PCI Express graphics output". is this a reguler molex connector?
Can I plug it into my AGP card?

And what about PFC? is this a "must have" feature?

Thanx.
Ohad.

SLI certified PS have PCIe VId Card connectors. 2 PCIe vid cards linked make up SLI on compatable mobos!
A regular moldex is the 4 pin like on hard drives and CD-ROMS!

how come nobody recomends X-Connects anymore, they are by far the best deal out there. OCZ PSUs are well over $100 while i got my UV X-connect for 30 after rebates. 500 watts and 34a on the +12v Rail, you cant beat the preformance to price ratio. They are also dead silent but still use 2 80mm fans. Plus, they are continous 500Watt suppliers, no going below the rated value, heres the one i have...BUY IT!

p.s. plus they look better than any OCZ out there for 1/3 the price
