Yes, and incidentally us OC'ers make up about .2% of the PC gaming scene which fits in perfectly with this article.
I somehow doubt the .2% are the only people that like to borrow games, trade or sell their games. I don't seem to have a problem going to Gamestop to sell my PS2 games, why should PC games be any different?

Erm.. No, you dont OWN your windows, you own a license to use Windows, nothing more, nothing less. That is called "licensing"...

And it's especially my hardware and when EA decides to secretly install Securrom on my pc that uses of system ressources (ie electricity and performance) for my hardware, well, this happens.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/tech...securom-d.html

I just dont see how you can justify a company imposing itself on your stuff.
The thing is.. Whoopety do? Its all logical anyways, its not like they physically it. Look, DRM is there, oh well. Live with ti, seriously.. Its way blown out of proportion by people who vehemently declare their "rights" against it.. If you have so much energy to hate on DRM for invading your rights, then why not use that for something more productive.

Also, if there is anything in the user agreement about the securom being installed, then yeah, you have legally signed a contract that allows for it to be put on your system... Shoulda read the license and such .

You overclock and your complaining about this using system resourced? Yeah, ok..

Uhhh.. DEACTIVATE.. You have like 3 or 5 activations right now, yes? Well if for whatever reason you feel the need to blow through 3 - 5 installations already, EA is going to release something that will easily deactivate your installations. Its not uninstalling, its deactivating. You have say, 3 activations.. You have used 3 and need a forth, you just go into the software/whatever it is and deactivate the other 3 because they were on other computers/old installs or something.. And wallah, you have your 3 activations again..

You obviously work for EA or are affiliated with those that are involved with DRM. If not your just a drone that's been brainwashed. This is the bottomline. Never will I allow a rootkit to be planted on my computer. My property. If you as a developer don't like it, tough. Nobody is planting **** on my computer that I can't access/move/modify/edit whenever and however the hell I feel like it.

Its also a very amusing paradox that Anti-piracy is going to force people to become pirates and then use those lost sales as statistics to justify and then implement further methods of intrusion which they will enforce only on the lawabiding. Its not theory proof. Its already failed. Accept it and move on.

Are you retarded? Lets take out the Windows CD. Whats on it? A copy of Windows AND a license. Therefore you do OWN windows and you are using a license to utilize it.

Like battling something that will ruin PC gaming more? Oh, wait thats a DRM.

It doesn't matter if you read it or not, you can't play the game without accepting it.

Yeah, I don't want to, I just want to install my software like I do with anything not retarded. Why is it now my duty to go to EA's site, or use this program thing and remove installs of my game?

You want to know what EA's stance on this. Nothing more than this reason.

Quote:
Q: Why are Maxis and EA implementing this new authentication process?
A: This solution serves to protect our software from piracy. It has the added benefit of allowing you to activate your game on multiple machines without needing the game disc in the drive when playing the game.
That is the only reason and it doesn't even do that. I certainly don't want to be punished for buying a game and so does nobody else.
