[TPU] Foxconn Turns on the Heat with X58 Blood Rage - Page 21

It's more like a server-grade CPU for consumers. If it were really meant for servers, they'd only make server motherboards for them.

Seems like the board will cost between $350 and $400. A good 6GB of DDR3 at 1333MHz would be 100 less than that, and the i7 920 should be between $300 and $350.

Are you serious? Then your son must play with some good looking legos.

Gigabyte boards are known for being barfed up legos, due to their multi-colored slots that resemble no apparent color scheme.

hmmm....

i really don't think i can afford this for a while...

then, i'd have 2 buy: a core I7, 6GB of DDR3 RAM, that X58 mobo and a 2nd HD4870 to CF the rig.... or whatever GPU comes out later....

sounds a bit expensixe....

What? You don't *need* 6GB of RAM and DDR3 RAM can be had for less than $100... Theres an ECS X58 MB for $250 and an EVGA one for $300. + A 920 for $320 on newegg and you could build an i7 for $1500(Even less if you reuse your current parts, HDD, PSU, GPU, Case) and even less if you sell your CPU, RAM and Motherboard for the new one.

lol

Well, i can reuse the GPU, hard drive, PSU, the case and my fans.... except for the CPU cooler...

If i sell my mobo, my E6600, the RAM and my old 7900GS then....

maybe i can get about 500 bucks for everything...

but it's not enough...
