AKA: stoped close to immediately
I think I probably have the same pair as you. They sounded like **** when I first bought em I was pissed but since I've been using them so much I can definately tell they sound much, much better. They don't soubd great by any means but for $20 they sound pretty decent now.

Some people are extremely content with lower end headphones, and Koss is known to make a couple of headphones on a budget that sound excellent [porta pro's anyone?] I'm glad you feel they have evolved!

Probably a dumb question, but do all speakers have to be burned in, or just headphones?

AH i tried those on at my local radioshack not a couple hours ago!! what luck, i liked them, decent for 50$ i would say, good bass average volume! they got a bit heavy after a couple minutes but it was most likely me and my giant ears being a bunch of panzys

so in my word go for it, if you do not like it, return them or sell them for a couple dollars less on OCN

Yes they do

It takes time for the surrounds on the drivers to losen up and the sound does change over the first few hours of use, from my experience speakers need less time than headphones to be 'broken in', i have stoped noticing anything after probably about 20 hours of use with my speakers...

A handy way to brun in speakers is to place them together (speakers facing) and run them out of phase with a mono source, the result is you can leave your speakers running overnight without them making to much noise Yet the cones are still moving and therefore breaking in

I dont actually burn in my headphones or speakers becasue i enjoy the experience as the sound slowly changes, i really like noticing a slight difference as the days go by All part of the new audio gear experience...

Ah. Neat. I've got a pair of skullcandy ear buds. I'm totally impressed by the sound they give. Makes me wonder what they sounded like out of the package.

I have always wondered if it was simply that when we get new speakers or headphones it takes a while for us to get used to the sound and hence we believe the sound is changing when maybe its just our perception of the sound

I realise this isnt true but think about it...
