How does this look? £500~ build for a friend

Hey guys,

Attempting to build a computer for my friend, he's on a budget of around £500, and he's mainly looking to use the machine just for browsing the net, listening to music, maybe playing the occasional game. Would appreciate suggestions especially on the motherboard, PSU, and memory. He doesn't want to do any overclocking on this, but I'll probably put it up a little bit for him.

This is what I've got so far: (I'm in the UK, so prices will be high)

Motherboard: MSI Intel P35 DDR2 - £53.62
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7300 - £89.05
CPU cooling: Gonna run it at stock probably, and just do a slight OC.
Memory: Corsair TwinX 2Gb DDR2-800 (2x1Gb) DHX Kit - £32
Graphics: 8800GT 512MB - £89
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 320GB - £41.55
PSU: Corsair 450W Extreme Power (this should be enough to run the 8800?) - £46.94
Monitor: 20" Wide L-2041W 8ms LCD TFT - £99.87
Case: CoolerMaster 690 - £59.40

This comes in at around £500, I know I can get it cheaper if I spend some more time looking though. The main things I'm worried about are: 1. The graphics is overpriced imo, and I might push it down to a 7 series or up to a 4850, and I'm really not sure how the motherboard or memory performs. Thanks for all suggestions.

I would say lower the CPU to a e5200 and get the full 512MB version of the 88GT

I would agree with above statement, you'll get more on that 20" monitor with at least the full 512mb video. Also why ddr2-667....ddr2-800 is cheap and more suited for the system. Especially if you choose to go with the 5200 as it has 800mhz fsb.

I know you can get good deals on q6600 + mobo bundles or equiv AMD cpou + mobo bundle.

You could try sorting one of those cpu+mobo bundles to save some cash.
