Looks like Far Cry 2 is VRAM hungry as hell at higher resolutions - I be a 1GB HD4870 would hold its own much better versus the GTX 200 cards. That, or ATI really managed to tank single-card performance while drastically improving its dual-chip card at the same time.

the gentlemans club of 8800-Ultra owners must be jumping around laughing their heads off right now...

My bad, I did a quick search, but didn't see anything... must have missed it.

Anyway, I've been really anxious to see how the 4830 turned out, and this was the first review that I've seen of it... and I think I'll wait to see how it fares on more than one game before I make any final conclusions... although the 9800GT is looking pretty good at that price point.

Wow there's so many people excited for the 4830......they better make alot of them unlike the 9800 GSO/8800GS because I live in Canada and I want one

Hmm, very interesting. Looks like my Ultras in SLI will perform very well with this game.

It seems that HD4870 1GB performed worse than GTX 260

And HD4870 512MB performed worse than 8800Ultra
