I've never had trouble with it.

My dad works for NASA and they have millions of dollars of Anti-ESD devices up there. He says it's "a damned waste of money." I think, know it exists, but I think you don't really need to worry. Each time you touch your case you ground yourself, which you do many times while building a computer.

Nothing like watching your friend handle his RAM, see and hear the arch and watch him throw the damaged RAM in the trash
