I too just started to have crashing issues. If I get killed, the game freezes up when trying to load the last autosave.

I've gotten all the way to level 5 without any crashes and now it happens every time the autosave tries to load.

Anyone else have this problem?

********************************

Apparently it's a known issue

is it possible to go through Tranquility Lane without racking up loads of bad karma?

If you're talking about a certain part in the main quest, that's not true.

Yes.

First post in this thread so I haven't read the whole thing. I apologize if this has been covered before.

I too have been plagued with the random crashing issues. It typically happens when loading after clicking a door or trying to fast travel. I haven't tried windowed mode (suggested on most sites), but I did find some links that pointed to a memory leak as the culprit.

This hasn’t eliminated my crashes completely, but I’ve been able to play for a few hours without a crash and thus saving me from having to redo mission. (Quick save is your friend!!)

Here is a generic troubleshooting thread at the Bethesda forums.
http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/in...owtopic=890612

Increasing my virtual memory has helped a lot. Until Bethesda fixes the memory leaks, this is about all we can do. I have always taken the recommended pagefile size and used that as the max and min settings. If you have the spare disk space, I think this is safe. Otherwise, Microsoft suggests you set your pagefile to 1.5 times your RAM capacity. I would still set the max and min to the same value. This helps keep the pagefile from being fragmented.

Hope this helps! I got FO3 for Christmas and have loved every second! One of these days I'll make it to that dang radio station.

Im thinking I might have a memory leak as well - I can play for a few hours and then it crashes. I also have not yet installed the patch. I'll do that and see if it helps any.

I saved right before this and tried it every way. I ended up sniping him and collecting the mini-nukes.
