all you need to do is, the room where you answer the radio, has a back door leading out to the verandah. inside the house, beside the back door are two small rooms with doors, sorta like storage rooms. simply get two players per room and stay in there the whole time.

one of us watched the back door, the other the front door. the only time we left the room was when the tanks arrived. we did it on the second go no worries.
Pretty much every campaign has something like that for the finale. Blood Harvest has a closet upstairs in one of the bedrooms you can just sit in. No Mercy, you just hop on the ledge on the backside of the tower, and nothing can get to you except hunters. Dead Air is the only real exception to this one.

Hey all,

I just bought L4D from Amazon this morning for $30. Couldn't pass it up.

Although, I will be major noob, borderline n00b. I've never played games through Steam before (just made my account last night, actually), and never played the games similar to this (CS, Half Life, whatever else is along those lines) but I have played FPS before (most recently, Crysis... and GTA IV if you can count that).

I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up with people playing online.

I'm looking for advice on what to do once I actually get the game... should I play through single player a lot until I'm really used to it, or just jump in and deal with getting destroyed until I fit into the learning curve? The first option seems a bit better to me, as I can see myself getting banned from games for sucking so bad.

Another option is getting a copy of the game that isn't Steam enabled and playing now, until I get the game to start... I wouldn't feel bad downloading the game in that case, since I've actually paid for a copy... but I still don't like the idea. It's also finals for me right now... so waiting a week might be a great idea :-/

Just find a server and play on easy, the learning curve is minimal, all you do is shoot, you don't even have to aim really, once you get to advanced and expert you need skill but easy and normal needs almost no skill at all. Just try normal and tell the guys you are playing with that you are new, you will see that it really isn't nearly as hard as CSS IMO

Yes, all Valve games that you buy in-store still require you to use Steam. So yes you can, and are required to even if you don't want to

pretty good, it keeps throwing you changes every time you play and depending on you game style, for best results play with other friends not the SP campaign.

I'm lovin the game so much. The worst part about it is when people don't talk on the mic =(

in game voice is like WASD imo. It's really needed especially for expert.

Other than that this is one of the funnest games to play ever.
