I can't believe you just called MGS a mediocre game. Shame on you.

In a word. Yes.

I love MGS. Especially given where technology could take it now. Smart AI, really having to sneak to survive, and the open world of FC2 are two things I feel like L4D SHOULD have. The levels are bigger and more elaborate but feel just like updated, fast-paced Doom to me.

I'm not touting MGS or FC2 as the end-all be all of gaming, but they have some serious achievements that subsequent survival/action/horror games should implement.

I know FC2 isn't really a predecessor, but, I dunno, I was just really expecting something with a more non-linear, flowing style.

And as for 28 Days Later, I defy you to find a better zombie movie. It's got quality acting, an awesome story, and enough guts splattering this way and that to keep me satisfied indefinitely.

Too many movies (Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, etc.) are good, but don't take the story to the next level. The notion of the real impact of such an infestation being explored much more psychologically like it was in 28 Days Later is really gripping in my opinion.

You really can't judge the full game based off of 1.5 missions out of 20 total. It's such an amazing game. And the demo is cake compared to some of the other levels on expert.

yea i spent about 6 hours trying to beat No Mercy Lvl. 3 on expert

You can, it would just be a horrible idea. I was not impressed with the demo either, but I couldn't be happier that I bought the game. In the few hours I played it last night, I loved it.

Now I just have to work on not shooting teammates with the shotgun.

lol, I love the patients inside the hospital with the backless gowns.

You can ask Marin and Omega. The first time I shot one of them and they fell down upside down, I was like "OMG YOU CAN SEE THEIR ASS LOLOLOL"

Gotta love Valves' humor.

rofl! Video? I have to live vicariously though this thread, and the more I read, the more I want to buy the game (but I don't have the real time to play... )

I agree that you shouldn't necessarily pass judgment based on a shade less than 10% of something. But, as someone who works in srsbsns marketing, I know that it behooves the seller of a good or service to make the ad as sexy as is possible.

They should have packed the first lame-o level with a sweet level to make you really want more. The demo, in my opinion, fails miserably at that. I'll give it a whack with a friend who's bought it. It might be like any number of other simplistic games that come alive in multiplayer.

Anyone else having a complete ***** of a time with the rooftop stage of No Mercy? My roommate and I have been playing it for literally 2 hours now with no success. Is there something we're missing?
