I haven't been enjoying VS mode as much as I though I would. x=

I still need to find some nice people to play campaign with to! Keep getting ******* who like to walk infront of my shotgun. ;(

There is one way that works, but it requires 1 of the Team to sacrifice their life
  • All 4 need to be on the highest part of the roof (right before you jump down onto the ladder that spans to the adjacent Helipad.
  • 3 stay up there, the 4th goes to trigger the event
  • As soon as the horde start to swarm the 3 need to scoot down the long ladder, and than back down the elevator shaft and back through the crawlspace.
  • Take up positions in front of the elevator doors and the crawlspace and prepare to blast away.
  • Tanks can get through the crawlspace, but it takes them awhile.
  • Blast away until you hear the chopper
  • RUN
Not a very elegant tactic, but it worked.


The other way that worked:
  • One person on the Gatling gun and 2 peeps protecting the flanks, and the fourth person on the roof behind.
  • Use all the propane tanks/Molotov's on the Tank(s)
  • Person on the roof uses pipe bombs when needed
  • As long as the 2 peeps protect the Gatling gunner, and the gunner spools the Gatling properly this will work for all but the Tanks
  • When they appear break and run, but stay together and have a Blast-fest.
  • Regroup for second wave

Another way (and what turned out to be the easiest) is to use the stairway behind the Gatling gun that leads down to the Radio room:
  • 2 peeps up top aiming out the door, 2 on the middle of the stairway aiming down the stairway
  • The bottle-neck there provides a single avenue of approach and excellent fields of fire
  • Pretty straight-forward: Blast at anything that moves and is un-dead.
  • Break when the Tanks appear and then re-group once he is dispatched.

    Again, not the most valiant of tactics.... but all is fair in Love and War.

All the more reason why I switched to the automatic and pistol. I use to be a shotgun only person. Once I improved on head/limb shots I learned that even the pistol can be just as deadly as the shotgun.

Biggest problem we had was we couldn't get back together faster enough after tank fights. The mobs would come so fast. Smokers, hunters and boomers made regrouping a very hard task.

try it on expert then get back to me. the only way i have beaten it without losing everyone before the second tank is for 3 people to cover the machine gunner... when a tank pops out (it will annouce a 10 min left and a 5 min left) light him on fire and everyone stay way away.

I finished rooftop on advance only-once...I agree with ^^^ 3 on the gunners area (assuming these 3 are self reliant and can kill at a reasonable pace) >once tank comes in spread out > tanks deficiency is that he only has his fists+he is slow climbing up the walls but since hes the only one around the other 3 can surround him (I prefer using the armalite) and just keep on shooting on him without letting go of the trigger >also molotovs are preferred but not a must he seems to die quicker > we killed 3 (I think) in advance just before the roflcopter arrived > make sure that when you hear it come or the radio guy will announce it be by the helipad area and defend yourselves from there...its easier to jump on > it was kind of cinematic coz Bill was the last guy and he was limping >woot

also:
try to use all the pipebombs/molotovs > its a waste > + gas tanks +propane tanks

yeah well the tactic we employed was 1 on the MG, then one watching the MGs right flank, another watching the left and one guy on the highest roof part with his rifle.

but unless you got good teammates covering those flanks, you end up having to ditch the MG for your own sake as well as helping others and the roof just gets too rushed.

then you have to worry about Smokers too, the other hardest enemy for this stage imo.

i love the tactic of running back down the elevator shaft hahaha. its so cheap but hey, it worked.

im not into bottlenecking stairwells. if you dont do it right, you've trapped yourself, and its very hard to cover your teammates.

we had another idea for a nominated person to be bait and run circles around the bottom to bring the Tank in front of the MG. unfortunately you gotta get down there first, and make sure he followed you without getting too close.

i love the challenge of it thats for sure, but it got pretty frustrating after like the 7th try and i had to go, so didnt get a chance to even finish it.

Hide in the cupboard near the radio, next to the gun case. Two in front crouch and melee, two stand and shoot. Front two are better off with shotguns, back two with autos. Just stand in the and absorb the waves. When a tank comes, obviously you get the hell out and try and dap him one, fire, guns and all-round fire on him. Once he's down, swing by the gun case on your way back to the cupboard, and repeat.

It also works on all the other finales too. The secret to this game is bottlenecking. Hold up a small doorway or narrow area, and you'll be fine.
